On the Gogh: Fighting Hunger with Flavor

When it comes to cooking up good food for a great cause, no one does it quite like chef Jon Ashton and his Van Gogh Vodka infused recipes. During last Thursday’s Greater Boston Food Bank Chef Challenge, Ashton “competed” in a friendly food fight with Bostonian chefs Jody Adams of Rialto and Marc Orfaly of Pigalle.

Chef Jon Ashton gives Chef Brooke Vosika, executive chef at the Four Seasons Boston, a sample of his Honey Pomegranate Sauce which features Van Gogh Pomegranate Vodka.

His Seared Salmon with Honey Pomegranate Sauce was a delicious highlight of the evening and a favorite of the judges, but the true winner of the event was the Food Bank, which raised more than $100,000 toward the fight against hunger.

The Chef Challenge served as the kick-off for the weekend’s Super Hunger Brunch, which was hosted by 30 of the city’s top restaurants and featured cocktails provided by Van Gogh Vodka. Van Gogh Vodka is proud to support the Greater Boston Food Bank and the fight against hunger in America.
