Cooking with Vodka
As you can tell by our recipe database, our blog postings and our podcasts, we have a lot of vodka drinks and martini recipes. And, thanks to your ideas and the great work by Stacy (our bartender) the list continues to grow. But our flavored vodkas also are great for cooking.
We have been working with celebrity chef Jon Ashton and he as a lot of great recipe ideas. Plus, there are a lot of us here at Van Gogh Vodka who use the vodka in our cooking recipes for everything from seafood to cakes. We are currently working on adding those to our web site in the near future.
For the moment, I wanted to share an easy vodka cooking recipe that’s great for shrimp or salmon. I have personally tried both and I think they are great.
Ready…just marinade the seafood in either the Coconut Vodka or the Pineapple Vodka — and if your really daring you can use both.
I have tried the Coconut Vodka with the shrimp and then sautéed them. For the salmon, I have marinated the fish in Coconut Vodka and grilled it. On another occasion, I used both the Pineapple Vodka and the Coconut Vodka - sort of a Salmon Pina Colada — and then poached it.
Well those are just a couple of the cooking with vodka ideas we have. There are more to come. And of course, please share your recipe ideas with us. Perhaps we can include them in our new online cooking database that’s in the works.
Cheers
